The meeting was hosted at Keihin North America, Inc. and was attended by economic development professionals and industry leaders from eastern NC.

Keihin North America, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of vehicle engine management and climate control systems. Keihin’s Tarboro location manufactures almost all the critical components for Honda and Acura in North America. The group heard about the company’s history and impact on the local community from plant manager, David Catts. After the presentations, the group toured the manufacturing facility.

The group also heard presentations from NCEast Alliance’s CEO, John D. Chaffee and Sr. Vice President, Vann Rogerson. The two discussed the mission and activities of the NCEast Alliance as it pertains to regional advocacy, marketing and industrial development.

The NCEast Alliance Committee of 1,000 will support the mission of the NCEast Alliance to promote capacity building and advocacy efforts that will positively impact eastern North Carolina. The focus of the NCEast Alliance Committee of 1,000 is to engage and encourage small businesses and entrepreneurs to become active in regional economic development. “We recognize that small businesses and entrepreneurs are the backbone of many of our local economies and we are pleased to offer an opportunity for those individuals to be involved in what the NCEast Alliance is doing for the region”, stated NCEast Alliance CEO, John D. Chaffee.
