19TH ANNUAL EDENTON MUSIC AND WATER FESTIVAL

Opportunities abound as the Music & Water Festival finalizes its activities and gets things rolling providing visitors and residents a chance to get on the water either in a boat or kayak at no cost.

EDENTON, NC – Opportunities abound as the Music & Water Festival finalizes its activities and gets things rolling providing visitors and residents a chance to get on the water either in a boat or kayak at no cost. The event will kick-off with Greenville’s Jupiter Jones Band on the waterfront stage for your dancing and listening pleasure under the stars from 7 – 10 pm along with a Beverage Garden and Food Trucks. For those that like to listen from the water, a Sunset Paddle will launch from Queen Anne Park at 7 pm. If in need of a kayak, one can be reserved by contacting us at 252-482-0300 or 800-775-0111 ahead of time.

Saturday is a full day of activities some a little more rigorous than others beginning with the 4th Paddle/Pedal/Plod Triathlon with registration in Queen Ann Park at 8 am and events rolling out at 8:30. We are excited to have the addition of a Wooden Boat Exhibit on the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse Lawn with free tours of the lighthouse. The Park Stage Entertainment beginning at 10 am until 5:00 pm has Dr. Peter Boehling lining up outstanding regional talent with some of the musicians roving along Broad Street from 11 am – 1 pm. This can all be enjoyed while you check out the sidewalk sale and make your way to the Heritage Farm Fest taking place on the John A. Holmes School Campus. To close out this year’s festival, the Edenton Steamers will play Peninsula at Historic Hicks Field followed by Fireworks.

Artisans of all nature will be on hand to help you find the perfect gift for someone special in your life or yourself. Of course, you can count on sampling from the many food vendors with beverages and ice cream to delight.

Kitty Hawk Kites will feature paddling opportunities throughout the day as well as some of their kites for flying. A favorite for all attendees is a chance to get out on the water either on their own or in a boat during the complementary rides from noon until 3 pm.

So whether you like – paddling, sailing, touring, singing, dancing, watching, crafts, eating, cruising, or making memories there is something for all ages to enjoy in Edenton. We look forward to having you join us for what promises to be a remarkable weekend on Edenton Bay. Bring A Lawn Chair and of course a Camera!
