Steve Bastian serves as Chief Operating Officer of NC East Alliance, where he helps strengthen partnerships among businesses, educators, community organizations, and other regional stakeholders across Eastern North Carolina.

Bastian brings more than 20 years of management experience, working with organizations ranging from entrepreneurial firms to Fortune 500 companies. He works closely with employers and regional partners to understand their challenges and develop solutions that address the workforce and industry needs of Eastern North Carolina.

A native of Eastern North Carolina, Bastian earned his bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in history from North Carolina Wesleyan College. He has served on the boards of UNC Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business and the Food Runners Collaborative and remains actively engaged in the community.

Outside of work, Bastian enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active in the community, and relaxing with his cat, Tipper.
