Trey Goodson has been with NC East Alliance since 2018 and currently serves as Chief Information Officer. In this role, he leads the organization’s strategic messaging, branding, and communications efforts, helping align initiatives around a central goal: connecting people, education, and industry to support long-term regional growth. He also plays a key role in coordinating communications across the organization, ensuring consistency in messaging and elevating the visibility of regional successes through media, digital platforms, and public engagement.

 Trey has led the development of the “Deeply Rooted” Eastern North Carolina brand, a storytelling initiative designed to strengthen regional identity, retain talent, and build pride across the region. His work focuses on highlighting the connection between meaningful careers and quality of life, helping individuals and families see a future in eastern North Carolina.

 Trey serves on the Rivers East and Northeastern Workforce Development Boards, helping align workforce strategies with industry needs. He is also a frequent speaker and media representative, sharing the story of eastern North Carolina’s opportunities and momentum.

He holds a degree from East Carolina University and is currently pursuing his MBA.
