North Carolina's Eastern Region and the Tourism Advisory Group will be hosting the 4th annual Tourism Mini Summit. This year's summit will focus on "Reimagining the Remarkable East." On February 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. you are invited to join tourism professionals from across the region as we engage in relevant and thoughtful discussion and listen to engaging and dynamic speakers and panelists.

Hosted in Rocky Mount, NC at the Booker T. Theater and Imperial Centre, this year's location takes advantage of a regional tourism destination where a museum, planetarium, and visual and performing arts exhibits all collide.

Speakers

  Lynn Minges

Lynn Minges is the Assistant Secretary of Tourism, Marketing, and Global Branding for the North 
Carolina Department of Commerce. In this role, she provides leadership and strategic direction for
the state’s tourism, film, sports, and wine industries while directing the department's marketing
program to position the state as the preferred location for domestic and international business.

    

Mary Ruffin Hanbury  

Mary Ruffin Hanbury is the founding principal of Hanbury Preservation Consulting, a firm established to help communities and organizations plan for the future by understanding and protecting those resources that provide a sense of place and a quality of life. Prior to founding her own firm, she was the Preservation Planning and Grants Supervisor for the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) where she provided technical assistance to over 100 local preservation commissions and managed the Certified Local Government program.
